I was shopping around for digital picture frames that had the best video quality playback and resolution for the right price. I intend to use it to display timelapse. Stumbled upon this and decided to buy it because of its video support functionality(MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Divx Video) and its high resolution(1280x1024) which, for its price didn't have anything similar on the market. After purchasing it, I was a bit disappointed with the video playback BUT was VERY impressed for how greatly built and sturdy this thing is.

It's huge compared to others on the market. The display size is 17" but the frame diameter must be like 20". It's big. And because of that it's a bit heavy at 25lbs. But that doesn't take away of how good it looks with the ivory matting. It really looks like a quality frame. It's very solid.

As for picture display:
1. The pictures display very quickly and when you insert SD card(I had a 4GB that I inserted), it starts the slideshow after a few seconds. No issues there.
2. Though I didn't really purchase this for displaying pictures, one thing I noticed with the pictures is that they are not so crisp as I thought they would look. Nevertheless, the screen is bright and there is no lagging at all displaying pictures.

As for video display:
1. The videos displays fairly quickly. A 200MB file took about 4 seconds to load.
2. There is no lag in displaying videos. The framerate is consistent and did not drop when playing.
3. As for quality, though it said the display resolution is 1280x1024, the videos did not display at this resolution. At best it can display NTSC and PAL resolution. Nothing higher. I tried 1280x720 and it did not take it. I even tried 1024x720 and it did not take it. The highest it took was 720x480 for NTSC and even took 720x576 for PAL resolution. But that was it. This maybe due to it's capability of displaying 4:3 ratio only. It took an MPEG-2 @10K bitrate and played it perfectly flawless. But that was it.

Besides not being able to play at HD level, I have nothing to complain about. This is a solid frame. And for the price, I think it's the best bargain for its class.

Love the clear and sharp color of the photos. Very easy to use. I put a piece of Velcro on the back of the screen and on the back of the remote. Now I will always know where the remote is!

This frame is very well made and solidly built. It has great potential but needs some improvement.

Firstly, fixing it to a wall is hard. It need 2 screws to be installed at exactly the correct distance and level. Not easy. One fixing point in the centre would be much better.

The big problem with this unit is that it does not have a shuffle or random play feature. How stupid! imagine an ipod without a shuffle song feature? The frame will play the pictures in date order. This means that when you switch it on you will see the same opening picture every time.

Another problem is the format of the screen which is not the same as most digital cameras. This means that it squeezes the image causing distortion. The only way to avoid this is to reformat all of your pictures in iphoto to the screen format. Very inconvenient.

As I said the frame has potential but lacks some thought.

In the summary of this product it says this digital picture frame can be mounted on walls and it even shows a lovely picture of a this frame mounted. Unfortunately, this object cannot be mounted on walls. It comes with no equipment to mount the picture frame safely on a wall and the User Manuel says that it cannot be mounted unless otherwise specified, and nowhere else did it specify that it could be.

I have owned other digital frames and this one is the best. The quality of the picture on frame is great but the main difference is the software. I have 7K pictures on a thumb drive and the frame moves through them without a hitch, whereas other frames have had a tendency to freeze up with this volume of pictures. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
