Easy to follow and works you hard July 9, 2010 C. M. (California) OK, so it's not the most professionally produced video out there. Christi isn't exactly in synch with the music in many areas. And it is HARD WORK! But I was looking for something to do the month before my wedding. I do a lot of cardio, but not much with weights. The learning curve is very shallow (i.e., easy to follow movements), and I already had the minimal equipment needed at home. The stretch sequence was good, but I recommend holdign each one longer (20-30 seconds) than she does. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a simple to follow video for a home workout to do when they can't make it to the gym or needs a break from the regular grind.
Great workout dvd for anyone November 13, 2009 NewMom (Arlington, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this DVD and still use it even though I've been married for several years. While engaged, I used this DVD whenever I couldn't get to the gym due to weather etc, and this combined with occassional gym workouts helped me lose about 10 lbs in 6 months. I tried a few other bridal workout DVDs and found that those either required too much floor space or props. This DVD worked well in the small living room of my apartment. There is a lot of stomping/jumping though so you might want to avoid it if you have neighbors living below you. The weights section is just so-so, so I typically skipped that, but the cardio portion is fantastic.
Really good August 23, 2007 Maureen O (Elkridge, MD USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this dvd for my best friend in preparation for her wedding. Leading up to the big day, we did a number of different fitness routines. I was surprised that this was one of the most difficult. We're both relatively in shape, and this dvd got our heartrates up and did some serious toning! The biggest plus was that I didn't feel as stupid doing this one as I often did doing something like cardio-kickboxing. I tend to have trouble keeping up with those complicated fitness routines, and I found this one to be effective and easy to follow.
Great Simple Workout. Sad Performance/Asthetic June 19, 2007 F. Koch (NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This workout reminds me of high school gym class. Simple yet absolutely effective moves, make it easy for anyone to follow. No wasted time learning complicated choreography here. Instructor can not keep beat with the music or herself. When the angles change so does her tempo. A few editing gliches, poor camera work and of course the whole her right is your left issue. If you are out for a general outline and someone to guide you through the basic moves you will be pleased. If you are looking for fancy and care more about the scene then the forming a lean mean machine, you will be disappointed. Broke a sweat with this one.
Whew... November 2, 2006 Ercuan (Rhode Island) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have to be honest -- I only did this routine once! I am almost 40 years old, I excercise 5-6 times weekly, I'm in pretty good shape, and this DVD was very, very hard for me. It really is a "boot camp" type of workout. If you like choreographed, aerobic-type routines, this is not for you. If you want a workout that really works you hard, you'll love it.
