 Enjoyed Story - Felt like I learned a whole new language.... September 7, 2010

I enjoyed the characters and plot.
The writing style though was very hard to read. The dialog was difficult to get through at first (truly a whole other language) by the end of the book I was able to read without pausing but at first I would come to a grinding halt and have to figure out what they were saying.....must have patience to get though this one but now I'm curious to check out her other work!

Not Telling
I don't know what the rest of you were reading, but this book was really hard to understand. I simply could not bare to finish it completely, what with the accents and everything, it just took the feeling out of the story. It started out okay, and held my interest, but then it just sort of plopped somewhere. I felt like Islaen had no depth to her personality. Also, Meg was really annoying at times. There was so many men in this story, and only like four women. It just didn't seem interesting anymore about halfway through.
For the life of me I tried to read the love scenes, but the eroticism was overshadowed by their talking about stupid little things. This just wasn't Howell's best.

A very good book one of my fav. of hers right up there with H.Bride and H.Knight
I read this book long ago, but did not know it was one of Hannah's. I had searched for it, but until recently upon reading anothers review and when they mentioned what had happened on Iain's and Islaen's prewedding night, I knew that it ws a one of the books I had been looking for, so thanks
I bought it and reread it and fell inlove with it again, I only wished that Hannah had or would write Alexander's story and some of Islaen's brothers and Gamel's and Phelan's as well
