Product Description Planning a wedding can be a trying experience... A little prewedding anxiety is normal for every bride, and Manhattan attorney Brooke Miller isn't worried. She's got the loving support of the world's greatest guy, so planning her nuptials should be a piece of cake. But that was yesterday. Today, Brooke's landed her first big case and has just discovered that the opposing attorney is none other than her fiance, Jack. But that's okay. These two professionals aren't going to let a little courtroom sparring get their legal briefs in a bunch.... Right? Wrong! Now Jack's pulling every dirty trick in the law books, and Brooke's starting to suspect that maybe he isn't the man she thought he was. Warring with her fiance at work and at home, Brooke realizes that she'll have to choose between the case of her life, or actually having a life.

Is English this author's native language? July 17, 2010 Patsy Stone (Chicago, IL) Predictable, at best. New York Jewish lawyer must get married. Yawn. Hasn't this story been told already? Again and again and again. But the story wasn't half as bad as the language. The author (and here I'm assuming that English isn't her first language) should fire her editor. The book is filled with typos and terrible grammar. 'Off of'. Seriously? Once she writes 'hankie' for 'handkerchief' only to three sentences later refer to same object as 'hanky'. In the author bio we find out that she gives 'creative writing classes'. Who'd pay for those? Seriously disappointed.
Clever writer August 21, 2009 J. Grambo (Indiana, USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Jack with a Twist is a cheerful, witty chick book with a cast of quirky, alcohol-soaked characters, some of whom are a bit too stereotyped. Perfect for the New York career girl who loves shopping, drinking, working, eating out, shopping and drinking.
Brooke and her fiance, Jack, both lawyers, have long shared a bed but now find they also share a big legal case -- from opposing sides. The premise is amusing and entertaining as Brooke tries to find time to shop and plan her wedding while struggling to find time for the case. However -- and for me this is a deal-breaker -- the bachelorette party in chapters 21 and 22 was so offensive to my Midwest school teacher values that I wanted to wash my hands for half an hour. Perhaps I could slice those pages out and burn them? I enjoyed the rest of the book.

Very funny. I read it before the first book and it didn't matter. Good descriptive characters.
Fun and Entertaining May 25, 2009 Kelly Klepfer (Iowa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Charming voice, fun characters, crazy scenarios...exactly what I want in my chick-lit.
Brooke takes on her fiancé and his parents, her parents and a few assorted other characters in an attempt to dominate in a legal battle, get what she wants for her wedding gala, and still appear to be a sweet, glowing and enviable bride.
Is that too much to ask? Surely you don't know Brooke if you think it is.
Reads a bit like a blend of fashion magazine, Idiot's Guide to a Trial, gossip rag, young Jewish New Yorker's guide to wedding kosherosity and angsty diary. Fun. Fun. Fun.
A fine twist on the typical romance, highly recommended March 14, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Working with one's partner can be a great experience, but not for Brooke and Jack. "Jack with a Twist" is a love story of two lawyers. Feeling they are destined to be together, they are engaged to be wed. And if marriage was the only thing on the table, things would be simple. But then they find themselves on opposite sides of the courtroom in a case that could make or break their careers. A story of love, career, and the problems when the two mix, "Jack with a Twist" is a fine twist on the typical romance, highly recommended.
