Product Description
When Maya Davis’ ex-boyfriend proposes to her roommate, Jen, their apartment becomes Wedding Central. As if that weren’t awful enough, Jen’s obnoxious mom moves in to help with the planning!
Maya's relationships really start to get crazy when her genius brother and sister-in-law announce their pregnancy, and then to top it off there’s Jack—could it be love? Who wouldn’t need a coffee break!

Latte Daze September 6, 2010 TL (USA) Latte Daze is the second book in Erynn Mangum's Maya Davis series. Maya Davis' life is going just fine. She's working at her favorite coffee shop, Cool Beans, alongside her boyfriend, Jack, living with her best friend, Jen, hanging out with her palates loving dog, Calvin, and building a better relationship with her brother and his wife. Everything is just as Maya likes, calm and predictable, until Jen gets engaged, Maya's sister-in-law announces she's pregnant and Jack says "I love you" but does she love him?
This is a great follow up to Cool Beans. As light and fun-loving as this book is, Maya's struggle to trust God in the midst of change is a great reminder to us as the reader to keep the faith. Maya knows in her head God is in control but does she feel it in her heart? Erynn does an awesome job of applying scripture to the character's situations and sharing how God can speak in the right place at the right time.
Fun read for all ages September 1, 2010 Malinda K. Detweiler (PA, USA) My Take: I really liked this book. The above description says that is written for teens but I think women of all ages would like it (after all I am almost 50). I really found myself liking the main characters Maya and Jen. I thought that they showed that there are legimate ways to handle life that doesn't involve what the secular world would do. They also prove that you can have fun and still be a Christian!
The Humar throughout the enitre book was uplifting and kept the book light and enjoyable.
If you are in the mood for a light fun read I would recommend this book (no matter what your age!).
thsi book is part of a series and although at times I foudn myself wishing I would have read the first book you don't need to read the first one in order to enjoy this one. You will probably want to read the first one though just to be able to read more about Maya and her friends.
I received this from Navpress for review purposes. I was not required to write a postive review.
Latte Daze August 26, 2010 Doretta Mills Maya Davis' life is complicated. Her ex-boyfriend is engaged to her roommate and best friend, she is barista at Cool Beans, and her brother and sister-in-law have just announced they are pregnant. Then there is Jack, her co-worker and friend who might be falling in love with her. Does she love him? After all they have been friends since second grade. When she thinks her life could not get more complicated, her roommate's totally obnoxious mom moves into the apartment to help plan the wedding--or does she have a more sinister agenda?
Told with humor and fun, this story will keep you wondering what will happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to read more by this author. erynn's light-hearted, down to earth style will leave you wanting more. Her brand of humor is like caffeine--addictive and at the same time satisfying. You will come away from this book with a fresh and rejuvenated look at life, love, and friendships.
I will recommend this writer's works to family and friends.
This book was given to me by NavPress in exchange for an honest review.
Great new series! August 24, 2010 Carman (ContinuousDelights) Maya is experiencing a lot of changes in her life right now. She is handling them with prayer along with copious amounts of coffee, ice cream, and just sugar in general. I love how Maya is such a real person! She isn't perfect, but with God's help she is trying. It reminds me that God is bigger than my problems AND my character flaws. We all need that reminder sometimes. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Maya Davis series!!
Cool Beans! Cool Story!! August 18, 2010 Holly M. Magnuson (Covina, CA) First off, let me say I'm not a fan of chick lit and I'm past the age of girlfriends getting married and the whole dating nightmare. With that said I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed this story. You get a little bit of everything with this story. You have the insecure Maya, you have the "perfect" (but sweet) girl living the almost perfect life, with Jen, you have the wicked mother with Ms. Mitchell and then the guys. Travis, Maya's ex who's dating Jen, Ethan the computer geek, co-worker and then there's Jack, Maya's longtime friend. I could write pages about Jack. I enjoyed not only the characters but the story, they come across as real people with real issues. I love how we see Maya search for God's help in her daily life. I loved the sticky notes.
This book had a lot of great reminders for me. First it reminded me how grateful I am that my parents were supportive of my marriage and who I was marrying. It reminded me that God wants a daily relationship with His children. Maya demonstrates the struggles that we all face and how we can look to God's Word for our guidance.
If you want something that is an easy read with fun characters that will make you laugh and cry that offers some good biblical principles about life then pick up this book.
If you don't like books that are overtly Christian then you will want to take a pass.
