Product Description While New Bern, Connecticut, lies under a blanket of snow, the Cobbled Court Quilt Shop remains a cozy haven for its owner, Evelyn Dixon, and her friends. Evelyn relishes winter's slower pace - besides, internet sales are hopping, thanks to her son Garrett's efforts. In addition to helping out at the shop, Garrett has also been patiently waiting for his girlfriend, Liza, to finish art school in New York City. But as much as Evelyn loves Liza, she wonders if it's a good idea for her son to be so serious, so soon, with a young woman who's just getting ready to spread her wings...Liza's wondering the same thing - especially after Garrett rolls out the red carpet for a super-romantic New Year's Eve - complete with marriage proposal. Garrett's the closest thing to perfect she's ever known, but what about her own imperfections? The only happy marriage Liza's ever seen is her Aunt Abigail's, and it took her decades to tie the knot. Soon, Liza is not only struggling with her own fears, but with the mixed reactions of her friends and family. And when she finds herself torn between a rare career opportunity and her love for Garrett, Liza must grasp at the thinnest of threads - and pray it holds...

Like this storyline June 9, 2010 Reader PJ (Washington State, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I bought the first book this this series, I was more into the quilting aspect of it than the story. But, I am now into the characters and feel like they could be my friends. If you belong to a quilt/knitting/sewing, etc., group, you will probably identify with these characters and their lives.
Special Relationships June 5, 2010 J. O'Brien (Albertville, AL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A Thread So Thin, the third book in the Cobbled Court series, by Marie Bostwick is delightful as the first two were. As a quilter, I love all the parts about the quilt shop, the special relationship of the friends in their Friday night quilting club, and the setting of the story in Connecticut. The author has an understanding of the American work ethic and of the values that have been a part of making this country who its people are. Liza, one of the characters of the book, has grown and changed from the first book to this one from a rebellious adolescent to a mature young woman because of her relationship with the other characters who live the American work ethic and good values so naturally. There are also other characters who have become solid citizens because of the caring people who have accepted them and given them a chance to overcome problems in their lives. I appreciate Marie Bostwick so much and am so grateful that I found her books. I now own every book that she has written.
Each book is better and better June 1, 2010 Mrs. Emily J. Moritz (Maryville, TN) I have read all of Marie Bostwick's book and all in this series. I am sad when the book is finished as I miss all the characters. It's like missing members of my family....she does a great job developing her characters....again waiting for the next book.
Never Enough Marie May 18, 2010 Judy Matthews (Terryville, CT) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
When reading a book by Marie Bostwick it's easy to get caught up, staring off into space. So much of the living that takes place in her books can create self reflection and realization, that you just have to remind yourself to keep reading. And yet at the same time, you can't put the book down, because you just have to see where all of the stories within the book are going. Marie has a special ability to make every character in a story, no matter how small a part, full of life and color. Since A THREAD SO THIN is the 3rd book in a series, we've had the special privelege to watch these characters grow. There's never an unrealistic "good" guy or "bad" guy. Every individual rounds out, with positive traits, frustrating faults, and the opportunity for growth. The only problem is, there's never enough. That last page marks the long wait for another book. Keep 'em coming, Marie...please?
