Legend has it you will find your mate within months of reading this book, and I did. June 17, 2010 Elle (Henderson, NV) I have a huge bookshelf stocked with spiritual books focusing on masculine-feminine energy polarity, and when my elder Russian bikini-waxer recommended this one, I was quick to pass judgment on the source of the recommendation, assuming that she didn't know what it was like to be a single woman in her 30's, and that this would just be yet another book stating the same things I already knew. I had just been broken up with, and she claimed that a former client had come in one day to tell her how she read this book and met her fiance 5 months later, and from then on, she had begun recommending it to all her single clients seeking a mate. Allegedly all of them had fallen in love soon afterward. Well, the book was only $10, and I justified ordering it by claiming it was for research purposes. It was a good read, and framed things I had read before, in books by people like David Deida and Rori Raye, in new and practical ways. Also, Pat Allen likely inspired many of the authors whose books on the topic fill my shelves, as she was one of the first to begin writing about the practical applications of working with masculine-feminine energy. But the clincher is that within a few weeks I met my significant other. I can't say for sure if it was the book, but who knows? It certainly didn't hurt, and much of the advice it provides is worth taking. Worth a read!
was dissappointed that book was written in :( April 23, 2010 Theresa A. Murrell (colorado springs) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The book is pretty good, but the sellers condition was not, the book was written in a lot. :(
Excellent Advice April 19, 2010 Michelle S. (CA, USA) Short of going out and flirting to find the man for you; Pat Allen gives us all the info we need. Here's what I surmised from the book.
1) Always look your best. Whatever that best is for you. Many different men are attracted to different types of women. However they are visual creatures. They tend to fall in love with their eyes first.
2)Flirt, flirt, flirt! Men like it. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it for them. If they are interested, they will come and talk to you first. Let them approach you. Let them be the man!
3) No sex without commitment. Men do not generally marry women they have sex with right away. They will see you as Ms. Right Now, not Ms. Right.
4) This is really not emphasized a lot in the book, but she touches upon it briefly; Fall in love with yourself first! (I personally think this is key.) A man falls in love with a woman who first loves herself. They can't handle being responsible for your happiness all the time! First, we need to be happy with ourselves and our lives first. Then the right man is just the "icing on the cake" so to speak.
Getting To "I Do" April 19, 2010 Embrace Your Femininity (COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO, US) This is one of the Most Valuable Books any Woman, who TRULY desires "Marriage" (& not just "shacking up" with a guy!), could ever have the opportunity to read!! A MUST for the Non-Feminist types who enjoy working from their "female energy", & embrace the idea of Men being the Leaders of a family/household.
Has has good points but... April 4, 2010 Paula L (Toronto, ON Canada) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recommend reading Why Men Marry Bitches instead of this book. I at first was a big believer in this book but then I started questioning it and realized that it is messed up. That's why I recommend why men marry bitches. The only good point in this book was how she says men can take up to 8 weeks to process something emotional and to give them the space.
The reality is we single women need to not make marriage our priority, but rather finding a good man. If we get too caught up in getting married, we won't be screening our dates, looking for the right man. We may settle out of desperation.
This book recommends multiple dating, which I agree with. However, when the man asks for sex, this is when you bring up the topic of marriage. The reality is, men will say anything to get into your pants so giving this talk on exclusivity is nonsense. In WMMB, it talks about how you can have a man be the one to bring up exclusivity. That book is way more practical.
GTID seems to be a book for women, to delude them into thinking how they can get a man. At least in WMMB, it talks about how men are and how their minds operate.
Remember ladies, imagine if the way you wanted marriage was the way a man acted towards you. You'd bolt, so start giving men the space they need and have a life of your own. And yes actually have a career and hobbies that you are passionate about. A man is nice to have, but having one shouldn't be something that you are fixated on.
